Regional policy is crucial for the economic development of the country and depends on the implementation of targeted investments. It supports job creation, competitiveness, economic growth, improved quality of life and sustainable development.
Regional policy aims to reduce the significant economic, social and territorial disparities that still exist amongst the regions of Bulgaria - a country with a typical monocentric regional development model with a center of Sofia (the capital of the country).
The aim of the policy is to achieve polycentrism and develop all elements of the transport and economic infrastructure in the regions of Bulgaria to achieve balanced distribution of public goods.
